Data logging and advanced diagnosis

 

Todays high technology machines can require advanced diagnosis and high speed data capture in order to trace and rectify faults.
In order to provide this service SPE use a high speed 16 channel data logger, this equipment is capable of capturing events at a resolution of 5 micro seconds. The logging device can measure analogue and digital signals with high accuracy.
This has proven to be an essential tool to ensure the correct function of hydraulic presses and clutch and brake circuits where even the smallest delay in signals can cause problems.

Study 1

Diagnosis and rectification of an intermittant clutch problem on a Fagor mechaniucal press equipped with an Ortlinghaus hydraulic clutch.
We succesfully identified and rectified a pressure peak of 45 milli-seconds duration that triggered an error

Study 2

Investigation into poor clutch performance together with short clutch life. Following data capture and analysis adjustments were made to the system resulting in smoother operation and much improved component lifespan.
